Mindzi e-book series

Think Before You Click

A colourful story-and-activity e-book that helps children make safer choices online without making the internet feel scary.

Through Arin’s everyday digital adventures, children learn to pause before they click, check before they trust, think before they share, protect private information, and ask a trusted adult when something feels confusing, unsafe, or wrong.

This is not a rulebook. It is a parent-child conversation starter for building better digital habits early.

Think Before You Click cover
Why this book matters

Children are clicking before they know what to check.

Children are growing up in a world where online choices happen fast. A message pops up. A video looks exciting. A stranger seems friendly. A button looks harmless. A “free” offer feels tempting.

Most children are not trying to be careless. They are simply moving through a digital world that is designed to make them click, share, reply, watch, and trust quickly.

Think Before You Click helps slow that moment down.

Instead of giving children a list of rules, the book uses simple story situations where Arin faces real online choices. He learns to pause, check, ask, protect private information, avoid unsafe secrets, and involve a trusted adult when something feels wrong.

The goal is not to scare children away from the internet. The goal is to help them build a habit of thinking before they act online.

How the book works

It uses short story moments instead of lectures. Children see Arin pause, think, ask, and choose safer actions.

The most important message for the child is simple: you do not have to handle confusing online moments alone. Pause, close it, save it if needed, and tell a trusted adult.

How to use this book with children

This book works best when it is read together.

Sit with your child and move through the story slowly. After each situation, pause and ask simple questions like: “What would you have done here?”, “What felt unsafe?”, “Who could Arin ask for help?”, or “Have you seen something like this online?”

You do not need to turn it into a lecture. Let the child notice, respond, guess, and think aloud. The story gives you easy language to talk about digital safety without making the conversation heavy or frightening.

The activities at the end can be used as small discussion exercises. They help children practise spotting risky clicks, unsafe messages, private information, fake-looking content, and money-related pop-ups.

Read together

Move slowly. Let your child notice clues, ask questions, and explain what they would do.

Make it a conversation

Use the story to build calm, practical language for online situations.
